Relego MVP is live!

Do you remember the Sunny Sunday project? Since the last post a lot of water went under the bridge.

First of all, it’s been renamed Relego. Sunny Sunday was a provisional codename, and of course it didn’t tell you nothing about the project.

“Relego” comes from the Latin relegere: to read again, go over carefully, review. That is the core idea of the project: bring your highlights back to Kobo/Kindle or your inbox email so they can be revisited, not forgotten. Much like ReadWise, it sends periodic summaries (daily or weekly) featuring a selection of your highlights, allowing you to review your notes and gradually commit them to memory over time.

With version 0.15.3 it just reached the MVP status, which includes:

• a CLI for programmatic actions
• a TUI for interaction
• integration with Kindle and Kobo devices, both for highlights and for periodic recaps

It also got a brand-new logo:

The MVP worked out. It reached 30 stars on GitHub and (few) people expressed appreciation online. It’s time now to understand from the product perspective what did work and what did not. I’m starting to see it as a central hub of a pipeline where the user collects highlights from various sources and then Relego sends them to the use PKMS tool of choice (e.g. Notion or Capacities). But I’m still working on the PRD.
